How it works

People who message you, tap a link in a DM, buy something, share a post, or leave a testimonial are scored by their activity and grouped into three tiers: Inner circle, Regulars, and Warming up. People with little or no activity in the last 90 days are not ranked. This is based on engagement, not follower count.

Recent activity counts more than older activity. Someone who bought from you last year but has since gone quiet ranks lower than someone equally engaged today. Public page visits are anonymous and do not count. Only activity tied to an Instagram conversation, such as a DM, purchase, link tap, share, or testimonial, contributes.

The free plan shows activity totals, such as "3 people in your inner circle", without their names. Upgrading shows who they are and why they rank there, using tags like "3 orders" or "tapped 4 of your links" instead of the underlying score. You can also act on this information.

Each card also shows whether that person is reachable by DM right now: Instagram only allows a message within 24 hours of their last one to you, so a person who bought something a week ago but hasn’t messaged since is correctly shown as not currently DM-able, even though they still rank highly.

An Inner circle fan with a username gets a one-tap Protect button. It adds them to your Comment Shield allowlist. The allowlist is checked first, so keyword or spam rules cannot hide their comments.

Sort the list by score, alphabetically, by DMs, by orders, or by most recent activity. Export the current view to CSV, copy selected handles, or select people to message them from the page.

Attach a store product to a message as an early-access drop. It is sent after your note using the checkout your automations already use. The report names anyone outside Instagram’s 24-hour messaging window so you can reach them another way.

Tips to get the most out of it

  • Protect your Inner circle before tightening Comment Shield’s rules. A rule that works for strangers might catch an enthusiastic regular commenter by accident.
  • Use "Sort by: Most recently active" before a launch to find who to DM directly, and "Most orders" when you want your actual repeat buyers, not just whoever's DMed you the most.
  • A drop reaches only people inside Instagram’s 24-hour DM window. If someone is reported as skipped, copy their handle and reach out with a comment or story mention to reopen the window.
  • Sort the Money Inbox by "Superfans first" too (see the Inbox article) so a real buyer never gets buried under a pile of older fan mail right before a launch.
  • A Broadcast can target Inner circle, Regulars, or Warming up from the audience picker’s "Who gets it" step. For example, send a launch note to Regulars without repeating it to Inner circle fans. Each person can receive an email if they shared an address and an Instagram DM if they messaged you in the last 22 hours. The switches follow the lists you choose: Instagram contacts turn on DM, and address lists turn on email.
